Many people are stuck in rigid 9-to-5 jobs. Others crave a more flexible schedule and continue to freelance work. Steph Thompson, 31, prefers to have a mix of side.
Thompson, who lives in Australia, said that Side Gigs enabled her to maintain herself while working on a one -year academic program.
“When I had a more free week, I could spend more time on it and when I had no free time, it didn’t matter, the silk hustles would always wait for me,” she said.
She earned more than $ 5000 between January 2024 and last January from various side recordings, such as completing surveys, participation in content generated by users, references and selling digital products. Thompson completed her program in November, and now she is doubling on Side Hustles. Many people work on a side performance while they have a full -time job, and some side hustlers stay at home parents who want to earn some money. Some have given up their work to concentrate on the income of the side.
Thompson encourages people to find a side performance that corresponds to their interests and planning.
“There will be something for most people,” she said. “Maybe you should hunt it a bit, but you will find something that suits your personality, fits your brain, fits your time.”
Below are some of the performances that Thompson tried and why they might be fun for others.
Testing and assessing products and services
Usertesting, a platform that says that people can earn money in their spare time by testing and giving feedback on products and services, is one of Thompson’s favorite side. She earned more than $ 400 on the platform in the past year.
Some assignments may mean that she gives feedback about the camera or via a microphone, while other surveys are where that is not necessary.
Karan Mavai, vice-president of product management at Usertesting, said that “think-uploud tests” are the most popular on the platform. “Contribators speak their thoughts out loud while navigating through a digital experience, prototype or application,” said Mavai, adding that the customer is looking for that feedback and then receives a recorded session of screen interactions and verbal feedback.
“I like to be on video, and I love chatting with people, so it really fits my personality,” said Thompson about useresting and Market Research Side Hustles.
She also likes user interviews, another platform where you can give your opinion. There are different ways to earn through the platform, including online surveys, focus groups and multi -day studies. Some studies require a webcam to participate, while others can talk on the phone.
“If you like to give your opinion about things, this is the side that makes you busy,” said Thompson.
She said the wage can be lucrative; The platform says that the average wage is more than $ 50 and paid through gift vouchers. Thompson has earned some money with references to user interviews and participation in studies. Her income varied from $ 10 for a study of 15 minutes to $ 50 for a longer study. She has discovered that opportunities can happen during office hours, so she said it might be a good performance for someone who can fit into participation during the day.
Mystery shopping
Thompson said that mystery shopping is a simple side performance to try, because you could find opportunities via an app and then start an assignment quickly. She has earned 6 Australian dollars, or about $ 4, for one mission and Aud $ 8 for another. The missions include taking photos of the chocolate and candy areas of two different stores to record how they were displayed.
Thompson thinks this performance is ideal if you often go shopping. “They are a great little add-on for your day where it doesn’t really have to take you too far to earn a few extra dollars,” she said.
Digital products
Thompson has also earned money by selling a meal planning template and a budget spreadsheet, both digital products. More than seven months she earned around Aud $ 1,418 of all her digital products.
“They are things I made for myself and eventually went:” Oh, other people may want this, “she said.
E -books, budget trackers, printable planners and art can be sold as digital products. Thompson thinks you don’t need a large audience to get started selling digital products.
“If you go with where your interests are, you will tend to make better products, I think, because it actually comes from real interest,” she said.
Surveys
Thompson said that although surveys can be a good option for the side, she finds them boring. Although surveys are not her favorite side performance, she does like two platforms in particular: productive and Australian platform Octopus Group.
“If you keep an eye on those who pay better, that is usually a good use of your time,” said Thompson about survey platforms in general.
The Prolific site says that the minimum payment is at least $ 8 per hour per task, but productively told BI pay more than that. Prolific said that studies are usually between five minutes to half an hour.
Thompson thinks that survey sites would be ideal for someone who hopes to earn a little extra money or does not have much time to put aside.
“It is definitely not the most lucrative side busy, but at the same time, if you are the type of person who can sit on your phone and watch TV and scroll, you’ll be fine,” she said.
Delivery
Although some people like to earn some extra money with jobs, this can also mean that it is invested in part of your money in it. Thompson said that with a performance on the delivery side you will probably absorb more costs than other side-hustele options, because you have to take into account the gas prices, car maintenance and other costs.
Delivery of food is an option, such as Uber Eats. Thompson thinks that Uber Eats can be a nice option if you like to drive. She said it can be a Zijhustle that can be easy to get started when you pass on the background control, but she doesn’t think it’s such a good option as before.
“I didn’t do much in the past year or two, because the wage rate is certainly not worth making the time and effort if there are other options available,” she said.
