The real action at the NFL Combine may have nothing to do with the exercises on the field for the best prospects of the nation. This week, when deals are done behind the scenes in Luke Oil Stadium, where all 32 pre -offices are assembled in one place at the same time. This is where the Seattle Seahawks worked out the finer details of the Russell Wilson trade with the Denver Broncos, and every year there is no small amount of intrigues and speculation.
So far, the most interesting memorandum from Seahawks Insider Corbin Smith from Emerald City Spectrum, who reports that Seattle has had discussions with the New England Patriots, the Green Bay Packers and a third not mentioned NFL team about Star Wide Receiver DK Metcalf.
This of course clashes with how general manager John Schneider responded earlier this week when he was asked about the status of Metcalf during his press conference. Schneider seemed irritated by the question. However, if the Wilson drama teaches us something, it is that you cannot always trust what teams say about possibly trading their most important players, especially at this time of the year.
The team that listens to potential Metcalf -Handelscenarios corresponds to what we have recently heard of FOX Sports Insider Jay Glazer, who said that the Seahawks “probably” would listen to offers for Metcalf.
As far as the details are concerned, Smith has reported a “high pick” and a young receiver is on the table for the Seahawks in exchange for Metcalf, but which high pick was not announced. For what it is worth, the Packers have the 23rd, 54th and 87th general selections in the NFL design of 2025. Green Bay Insider Peter Bukowski has reported that the Packers believe that they can actually land DK in an exchange.
